For nearly nine months the Department of Employment had countless numbers of consultants from high profile,
highly respected consulting firms working on building their data warehouse, but none had successfully moved the
project from the idea to the implementation phase.
Transforming an Idea into Solution
Using the Idea Today Application Tomorrow Methodology, Seasia made decisions regarding the architecture
and functionality that would best harness the power from the integration of the Employment Services and
Unemployment Services data. The selected functionality of the data warehouse enables employees to:
- Conduct ad hoc queries in real time.
- Generate customized reports.
- Complete historical trend analysis.
- Track spells and duration of unemployment.

Each of the above can be sorted by demographic attributes such as race, gender, disability, marital status etc,
and then can be drilled down to the individual customer. And most impressively each of the above can be
accomplished directly by the end user - without the involvement of IT staff.
Mentoring services ensure your self-sufficiency
Seasia worked closely with the technical staff to ensure that the data warehouse could be maintained
expertly in-house. Our consultants
- Created the curriculum for classroom, hands-on, and self-directed training.
- Taught all training sessions.
- Conducted evaluations and issued progress reports.
- Wrote standards documentation for future projects.
